Art Emergency Exhibition

The journey of the refugees up close and personal

Old Trolley Deposit, 26th-26th May 2017

The Art Emergency Exhibition is an artistic collaboration of Art Emergency and mind the fact festival, which showcases the socially conscious profile of both initiatives.

In the exhibition a choice of the artistic production of all the art therapy workshops under the Art Emergency umbrella will be presented. The works depict the ever-changing reality of the refugees as filtered through the core thematic of the workshops, which was My Journey.

The exhibition is comprised of multimedia works, original paintings and sculptures, video animation, photographs and large-scale artworks in an environment realized in a manner to assist the public in experiencing the reality of the refugees. The young refugees document their journey through art and there is a separate unit of the exhibition devoted to subjective cartography which reimagines their way until here. We see their reality through the lens of their thoughts, beliefs and experiences and the camera becomes a tool for communication.
