Psychologist, Art Therapist

Loukia Chaidemenaki is a licensed psychologist, researcher, and art therapist who studied in the UK, Germany, and Greece (PhDc, MSc, MA Arts & Cultural Management, Member of the Association of Greek Psychologists, the British Psychological Society, the British Association of Art Therapists and the European Federation of Art Therapists). She has worked in the field of psychosocial inclusion of children and youth with disabilities in Germany and in the field of psychiatric deinstitutionalization and rehabilitation (Psychargws Program –Ministry of Health) and in drug addiction rehabilitation in Greece. She is a Board Member of the Hearing Voices Network Greece. At AMAKA, she is the Project Manager for European Funded Projects and implements advocacy programs for the promotion of the human rights of
people at risk of exclusion through the arts. She has been a scientific associate of the Museum of Cycladic Art for the promotion of accessibility and equal participation of PLDs in the Arts & Culture (2021-2022) and has curated exhibitions for artists with disabilities. In 2022 she designed and implemented an ethnographic research art-based program in Ecuador where she worked with indigenous communities, a project that has been published by the Canadian Journal of Art Therapy. Clinically, she works for social inclusion and supported Living for Adults with Disabilities. As a research psychologist, Loukia teaches Research Methodology in Social Sciences at a Private University Education and her research work has been published in international scientific journals.
